Royal Charlotte Bank
Our "Play Ground"
- We fish the famed Royal Charlotte Bank.
- "The Bank" begins 17nm. ESE of Canavieiras and runs 55nm. due east.
- "The Bank" has attracted many famed offshore fishermen, including, among others, Stewart Cambell, Tim Chote, Anthony Hsieh and Mother-Ship operations like, French Look, Freedom, Tyson's Pride and recently Bad Company Fishing Adventures.
- "Up-welling" generated by strong currents from the NE concentrates immense schools of baitfish that, in turn, attract and hold billfish and other pelagic species.
- From Canavieiras, we usually run between 17 and 25nm. to the grounds and troll on and off the "Drop".
Our Home Port
- We are located on the NE coast of Brazil, state of Bahia, in the small town of Canavieiras.
- Canavieiras is 900mi. north of Rio de Janeiro, and 300mi. south of Salvador.
- Our international clients usually fly into the Guarulhos Airport, in São Paulo, and take a 2 hour connecting flight into Ilhéus, Bahia.
- The International Airports of Rio de Janeiro and Salvador also have connecting flights to Ilhéus, but flights options are more limited.
- The transfer from Ilhéus to Canavieiras is by car, usually taking a bit less than 2 hours.
- Some of our clients take private planes that land nearby in Comandatuba, or on some occasions, land in Canavieiras.
